The World Was Made Flesh

John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus was always in the world. By His very nature as God He dwelt in the world as the omnipotent God. But here, in a certain time of history, the Word became flesh.

He was always God and he became flesh. He became man, with all of the frailty of the flesh. The pain, the suffering, the longing, the hunger.

He became flesh and experienced what we experience. He dwelt amongst us and gave up the glory of dwelling with glorious angels to be with us. So that His love may shine in this world. So that He may be the perfect lamb, the sacrifice without blemish. The Messiah who redeems us to Himself.

Born of God

John 1:12-13

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:   13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Who is a son or daughter of God?

The nation of Israel took pride in having Abraham as their father, and having the law and the prophets as their heritage. They believed that this was sufficient in being right with God.

But God said in Mathew 3:9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

Only God can breathe eternal life into us. Only He can give us a new birth. Only through Him can we be sure that we have the gift promised.

Many go to church and hope that this is sufficient. Many depend on their families Christian heritage, or their good works, or their national pride.

Many depend on what they give, their goodness, their tolerance, and their view of themselves.

But none of this will open the door. Only God can.

He Was In The World

John 1:10-14

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.   11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.   12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:   13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.   14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

He was in the world. Jesus of Nazareth. The Eternal Christ was in the world. And the world was made by him.

We are made by him. We are his. But we refuse to acknowledge him. He controls our heart beat. He holds our life in his hands.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.

If you are born of God you are God's. You are born again to Eternal Life.

The Greatest Moment On Earth

No time on this planet has been more significant, than when the Creator of the Universe came and dwelt among us for 33 years.

No greater time will ever be as significant as that time.... when Jesus the Christ left his eternal glory to walk among us.

A servant who had no place to rest, created the very dirt he rested on. The very nails that were thrust into his flesh,,,,, he formed their atoms.

So what is this all about?

We all share the same world. Breath the same air. The rain drops on all of us, rich and poor. The sun shines on the weak and the strong. The sick and healthy, the rich and the poor share the same stars in the heavens.

But we all have one question that we all must ask. A question that divides brother from sister. Son from father and husband from wife.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

To me, he is God in the flesh, The Eternal Truth. The beginning and the end. My creator, my salvation and my redeemer. He is perfect man, and perfect God. He is the 2nd person of the Trinity. Born of a virgin.
Crucified and raised in the flesh.

I believe this because He said so.

In a nutshell, I believe Jesus.

His word, is written on my heart.... tattooed by His Spirit more and more each day...

This is not going to be a hell fire and damnation blog. Nor is it going to be a feel good blog either.

It's going to be a simple and truthful reflection on the world we live in by someone who was called by Christ to be his follower...
